Alex Box in this month’s Vogue

As my regular readers will know, I am a huge fan of Illamasqua and love everything about the brand. Their products are superb, they're brilliant at interacting with fans and the team are absolutely lovely.

Earlier this year, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting co-founder Alex Box at the preview of the Generation Q collection. Alex is one of the most inspiring make-up artists I know and I’ve followed her career for a long time, so I was very excited to meet her. Sat gracefully in her chair, clutching a rounded baby-bump with her otherwise petite frame, she was one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. Her skin was glowing, make-up was flawless and she came complete with that shocking bolt of blonde hair in her otherwise jet-black mane.

Appearances aside, I rushed over to Alex in all of my excitement and she was absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed talking to her and when she spoke about the Generation Q collection her passion for Illamasqua was infectious. Leaving the event, I felt as though I had just met the Queen!

This month, Alex has a brilliant feature in British Vogue that captures the absolute essence of her, from early days and her love for all things gothic to the present day and Illamasqua. For anyone that likes to break the beauty rules, it is a must-read.
