October Regime

With the changes in weather, I've had to adapt my skincare regime to make sure that my skin is hydrated.

This month, I’ve found that my skin has been in great condition by using this combination. It feels hydrated and soft, and is really clear. Usually I can have quite a ruddy complexion and do have combination skin, but this regime has had my skin under control.

Cleanser

Like so many of her cult followers, I am a devout user of Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish. Not only does this cleanser make my skin feel really clean without drying, it also removes every scrap of make-up. I use this morning and night, massaging onto dry skin and then cleaning away with the Liz Earle muslin cloth.

Tip: my sister taught me that, when it comes to Liz Earle, it’s always better to invest. Go for the 200ml bottle instead of the 100ml; you can cut it open when you’re reaching the end of your supply and scrape lots of extra product from the tube.

Toner

I personally haven’t ever used a toner that has given me amazing results, so I skip this step and move straight onto…

Moisturiser

I get most of my moisture from serums. In the morning, I use L’Oreal Revitalift Perfect 10 – I’m 22 and think that prevention is better than cure when it comes to anti-ageing. For evening, I use Clarins HydraQuench for a real hydration boost. If my skin is feeling especially dry, I’ll mix in a little bit of Eight Hour Cream and use it as an overnight treatment. (Please note – I didn’t come up with this genius tip myself; I learnt it from subscribing to Newby Hands’ Beauty Diary on the feelunique.com website. Newby is a legendary beauty expert who I’ve been fortunate enough to intern with and her tips have transformed my skin and hair. Make sure you subscribe!) For nights when my skin is feeling hydrated enough, I still massage a coat of L’Occitane’s Immortelle Precious Fluid into my face and neck.

What are you using this month? Tweet me suggestions at @mixedgemsuk. I’d love to hear your thoughts on battling the cold weather.
