A limited edition collection of pastel nails

Inspired by the colours of Paris in full bloom, Estee Lauder have just released this new collection of pastel nail shades.

Tom Pecheux, Lauder’s Creative Make-up Director, says, “for this collection, I thought of amazing boutiques from the flower market, the pretty pastels of children’s carousels and the pops of colour from macaroons”.

Trying two shades, I was very happy with the quality of the polish. The brush is fairly short and thick, meaning that application is easy and quick. Consistency is fairly thick, so colour intensity is easy to gain and even one coat will give a lovely coverage (although I’d always suggest going with two for the perfect finish). The formula is very glossy and looks really shiny even before a top coat.

Here are two of the shades from the collection…

Lilac Leather

This is a beautiful lavender shade and looks so pretty on. Against Esme’s fair skin it looks very light – she could almost get away with it as a nude shade. It gives a very classic, fresh look, almost like a slightly brighter french manicure. A universally flattering shade, this has already sold out online so visit your nearest counter if you’d like to snatch this up!

Absinthe

A colour I wasn’t so sure about in the bottle, Absinthe looked gorgeous when applied. I must say that against my fair skin it wasn’t the most flattering (you always have to be careful if you’re fair with pastels) but when I applied it to another friend with a warmer skin tone it looked amazing. If you have olive or darker skin tones then I’d definitely recommend experimenting with this colour. Fair girls, stick to the Lilac Lavendar for a more flattering manicure.

A quaint and pretty collection, make sure you find your perfect shade before they’re gone! You can find these in Estee Lauder counters nationwide from January.
