My new favourite highlighter

Illamasqua's greatest release yet

Gleam is a champagne coloured cream highlighter in a compact. When using your fingers to prise a little out, it can sometimes crease and seem slightly grainy. Do not take any notice; when applied, it is smooth, creamy and soft.

This is more pigmented than lots of highlighters I’ve tried and it great used alone to accentuate the brow and cheekbones. If used underneath foundation as a base, however, it gives the most gorgeous, dewy glow. This is how I like to use mine. Combined with a BB cream it will keep it’s iridescent luminosity (try Garnier), and paired with a foundation it will just give a fresher, more glowing finish (try their Skin Base).

I would note that this is fairly thick. This is something that I love about it but if you’d prefer something lighter perhaps try the likes of MAC’s Strobe Liquid or Smashbox’s Highlighter.

To highlight, to prep and as an everyday product, this has been an absolute must-have of mine over Christmas and New Year. Unfortunately it is out of stock online at the moment (see? I’m not the only one who loves it) but you can still pick it up at their stores.

Watch out Benefit High Beam and Clarins Beauty Flash Balm… you’ve got competition!
