I Coloniali Invigorating Tibetan Shower Cream with Rhubarb

Infused with the finest ingredients from the far east

Earlier this week I started using a new shower cream and found a fantastic second use for it - shaving balm!

In texture this is is like a runny conditioner. It doesn’t foam as such but more glides onto the skin, leaving it feeling moisturised and really soft. The scent is quite strong and masculine; in fact it smells slightly medicinal. This could be due to the dried roots of the perennial rhubarb plant included in the formula; they were previously used for medicinal purposes in ancient China. Combining this with a hot bath or shower will absolutely leave you feeling invigorated – make sure you take the time to inhale the aroma in a few deep breaths.

It was scouring my twitter feed that first brought the range to my attention as Olivia Cox, Marie Claire’s beauty assistant, tweeted that it doubled up as a fantastic shaving balm. Eager to test the theory, I tried this in place of my normal shaving product (some stolen foam from my dad!) and the results were great. My legs felt much softer than usual and I didn’t feel the need to moisturise them afterwards like I normally would.

Considering that this is not only a unisex product but can be used in different ways I’d say it is a lovely addition to any bathroom. It is available at the Marks and Spencer beauty hall, too. Housing brands such as Leighton Denny and Nuxe, I think it’s safe to say that M&S have an eye for luxury beauty and I Coloniali is no exception.

Shake the cobwebs off in the morning and feel invigorated!
