Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

The best palette ever?

Have you ever heard so much hype about something that you assume it won't possibly be able to live up? That's how I felt about the Naked 2 palette from Urban Decay.

Last weekend, I finally treated myself to the cult Urban Decay release and have been in awe ever since.

Naked 2 consists of 12 neutral shades, all perfect for creating a classic smoky eye. Don’t let the word ‘neutral’ put you off – what I mean is that these colours come in shades like champagne, gold and cream so that they will work with any outfit and any cheek or lip. It is important to note, too, that there are also variations in finish; from matt to shimmer and even some glitter, all bases are covered.

Included in the palette is a double ended brush – a small, flat eyeshadow brush and a large, fluffy blending brush. The texture of the bristles isn’t quite ideal. It is synthetic and so the eyeshadow brush feels more like a concealer brush. It does, however, eliminate the need for you to bring any extras; if you have this palette in your make-up bag, you won’t need anything else. (The enormous mirror in the lid is also a big plus.)

In terms of value for money, it’s quite extraordinary. Priced at £36.00, each shade works out at £3.00 and is 1.3g. Although I adore MAC Eyeshadows and there are some that can’t be beaten (Woodwinked, for one), they work out at £10.00 for 1.5g. That’s one hell of a price difference for a small increase in product amount.

I hate to follow the crowd but I have to admit it – Naked 2 is simply unreal. Now to try the original…
