Masks for every requirement

Even though I am meticulous with my skincare, sometimes I still like to give my face some extra TLC. Adding a mask into your regular routine is the perfect way to eliminate any problems - like dryness, dullness or oiliness - as they come along. Here are a few of my favourites...

MaskeraideMaskeraide Sheet Masks

An adorable new brand from Canada, the Maskeraide masks are as beautifully branded as they are effective. Slip one of these on pre-party for a cooling, soothing pick-me-up that won’t break the bank.

AveneAvene Antirougeurs Calm Mask
Nobody quite knows skincare like the French pharmacy brands. As a fair skinned girl who is prone to redness, I love using this post-shower to cool hot skin or after a day of rushing around. Allow to sink in for a good 20 minutes before removing and let the balmy residue to protect your skin thereafter.

NudeNude Miracle Mask
Is your skin looking dull? Use this soft, rich formula – infused with miniature rice beads – to buff away dead, grey skin and reveal a fresh, youthful complexion. This works as an exfoliant and brightening mask all in one and everything from this range is utterly divine.

OriginsOrigins Drink Up Hydrating Mask
Apply a thick layer of this mask on those days when your skin feels dry. By morning, you’ll awaken to plump, hydrated skin that retains the moisture well into the next day.

Liz EarleLiz Earle Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask
Massage this into skin, day or night, for instantly softer skin. If you have time, leave it on overnight – despite being fairly thick, you’ll find that your skin has soaked it all in and feels softer than usual.

AntipodesAntipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask
A light, runny concoction with a vanilla and mandarin scent, this is the perfect de-stress mask. Use whilst indulging in a long bath or after a busy day to cleanse not only your skin but your spirit. Be sure to inhale the aroma and don’t rush to take it off – when you do, use warm water and massage the balmy residue into your face and neck.

ApivitaApivita Face Mask with Royal Jelly
Apivita is a Greek brand I’ve only started using recently and I am loving them. All of their products are paraben free and are so light but effective. This mask is light and silky (think your average conditioner) but absorbs very quickly and smells divine. Use for a light, refreshing boost before a night out.

PrevageMake your own!
My ultimate skincare mask? It has to be a mixture of Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream and Prevage Serum. Mix these in equal measures and smooth onto thoroughly cleansed skin before bed. Yes, it is incredibly rich, but by morning your skin will have absorbed almost all of it and will be both hydrated and polished. Use this for skin that glows for days on end.

Still not sure which one is for you? Tweet me @MixedGemsUK and I will help you to choose ‘the one’!

P.S Speaking of skincare, I watched Pixiwoo interviewing and Caroline Hirons recently and just loved it. I learned so much in such a short space of time! If you have any questions about which skincare you should be using, I’d really recommend watching this. Enjoy!
