The set that started it all...

In terms of beauty, I had always believed that Creme de la Mer was the pick of the crop.

This assumption came from all over; from noticing it on the desks of everyone I interned for, to spotting it in any celebrity or beauty editor interview. Everyone the world over seemed to be hooked on Creme de la Mer, so last month I jumped at the chance to try it at a fraction of the price.

Currently, Creme de la Mer have got a special Introductory Set on the website for just £45.00. It includes the original Moisturising Cream, the Eye Concentrate, the Regenerating Serum and the Reparative Body Lotion. Whilst the sizes sound small, the product is so rich that I’m just about finishing everything now, and can finally vouch for all of the fuss.

Reparative Body Lotion – there’s something about this that just seems to lock in so much extra moisture. This lightweight but ultra rich formula simply glides onto the skin with no effort at all, and leaves skin soothed and hydrated for days. I’m currently using this on some sunburn on my back to give my skin a dose of well-needed moisture.

Regenerating Serum – I absolutely love serums and wondered how this would work when teamed with the Moisturising Cream. The verdict? This was lovely and more potent than other serums I’ve used and so I’d recommend going for one or the other. A beige, creamy formula, this leaves skin feeling soft above all things and has helped me to tackle blotchiness on my skin.

Eye Concentrate – without a doubt, the best eye cream I have ever, ever used. It will really take a lot to top this for me. Used night and day, I’ve gone from using concealer daily to not at all. A deeply hydrating formula, this provides instant relief for dryness and also plumps skin on the spot, something I’ve not known another product to do. This was the piece that I got instantly taken by and the one that I’ve used the most religiously; I now have a full sized version.

Moisturising Cream – so how was I going to fair with my first ever pot? First, I was surprised at how thick this is; it is quite solid and very stiff. Charlotte from the Creme de la Mer team advised me that it is best heated between the tips of fingers prior to use (this part of the hands is not very porous and so you won’t lose any product). When whipped into warmth, the formula melts into a soft, buttery consistency, gliding softly onto the face. A teeny, tiny amount will be enough to leave your skin feeling utterly pampered and cared for. I’ve found a noticeable difference in the general glow of my skin since using this, as well as an improved appearance of the pores around my nose and forehead. What’s more, this is a deep hydrating remedy without a hint of oiliness or shine. (Not sure if this formula sounds like your thing? They’ve since developed two new formulas – a gel and a soft cream – that give the same results but give you the desired application experience.)

It’s worth noting that I ordered this online, too, so I got 2 free samples with my order. Considering that delivery is free – as is a beautiful gift wrap – you could technically order each item that you need individually and get two free samples per product. And since placing this order, I get frequent e-mails offering a code for an extra free sample, meaning that you’re walking away with three new items to try.

Overall? I think I might have become the latest cult follower. Today I placed an order for The Moisturising Cream – I opted for the original texture – and the Cleansing Oil, so I’ll let you know how I get on with those in due course.

For now, if you’ve always wondered about this sought after brand, now is the time to do something about it; get your Limited Edition Introductory Set HERE.
