For straight or curly styles

With naturally dry hair, I try to steer away from styling products as much as possible.

I wash my hair as little as possible (every 2-3 days for me) and find that using sprays or balms can have my hair feeling greasy much more quickly. One product that I’ve found to work really well, however, is this hairspray from John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease range.

With naturally curly hair, I am always looking for a remedy to frizz. Oils are a godsend that I discovered around a year ago (see this link for my holy grail product), but unless I leave my hair to dry naturally I still need a little extra help. Firm Hold Hairspray has worked really well for me when leaving my hair to dry naturally or finishing off a blow-dry.

Applied to wet hair, Firm Hold sculpts my curls into a much more defined shape as well as allowing any frizz to be tamed as it expands. There’s none of that crunchy, sticky residue (my pet peeve) and I’m left with smoother, controlled curls. I’ve also noticed that it is great for adding a little bit of volume at the root, perfect for balancing out the thickness that can come with curls.

When blow drying my hair straight or into waves, the Firm Hold is great for keeping my shape without flattening it. Sometimes I find that heavy sprays can cause my waves to drop, but this is light enough in texture not to interfere.

All in all? A product I’ll be buying again, and a brilliant quick fix for my early mornings. Proof is in the pudding – here’s a photo.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Firm Hold Hairspray is available from Boots here and at £5.59 there’s no harm in giving it a go.
