Intense comfort for dry winter hands

When it comes to balms, there are plenty of luxurious choices for face and lips. But, until now, I'd never come across one for hands.

This winter, Rituals have unveiled a Miracle Balm for hands. The rich, soothing texture is just the thing to ease the tightness and discomfort of drying skin. The scent is fresh and floral given the inclusion of the nourishing White Lotus, and added glycerine leaves hands feeling softer after use.

Compared to hand creams I’ve tried, the main difference is the silky finish that this leaves. Creams can leave what feels like a greasy residue, whereas the balm leaves more of a soft sheen on the skin. Seeing as the texture is so rich, it might be best to use this before bed to give it time to fully sink in.

As always with Rituals, the ingredients sourced are chosen to bring spiritual as well as practical elements to the ritual of use. In the case of the Miracle Balm, an infusion of Ginkgo Biloba has been included as this represents life and strength in Japanese culture.

Trying new beauty products all the time means that it’s hard for my head to truly be turned, but this stands out to me as something I’ve not seen or tried before. I’ll be keeping it to hand (excuse the pun) throughout the winter.

Rituals Miracle Balm is £10.00 at uk.rituals.com.
