A social collaboration from Mavala

A few months ago, I had the pleasure to meet Mavala's Social Media Manager, Deb Johnson. When it came to her brand she was immensely passionate, and there was nothing she didn't know when it came to the digital world.

So when she began to tell me about their latest social collaboration, That’s My Colour, I knew it was going to be a huge success.

The premise was simple; Mavala fans were encouraged to use the hashtag #ThatsMyColour to submit a photo of something with a great colour that they would love to see in a nail varnish. This could have been anything from a bright orange satsuma to a shiny gold pound coin. Then, three entries were chosen to be made into Nail Varnish shades, and the collection released as a trio.

A teal fire place, an oil spill and silver sequins were the three inspirations of choice for the collection. Here are the finished colours…

That's My Colour Bottles

  • Argentum: a molten silver
  • Hearth: a teal green
  • Iridescence: an oil inspired multi-tone purple

As with all Mavala shades, these apply with ease and won’t chip for days on end. Despite being fairly small (5ml), a bottle will last a long time and the rich colour pay off means that you’ll need no more than 2 coats for a bottle-true finish.

The set retails at £11.70 at John Lewis, giving you a small saving on buying three shades individually. An innovative nod to the digital world, this would make a unique gift for any social media enthusiasts this Christmas.

Mavala’s That’s My Colour collection is available at John Lewis: www.johnlewis.co.uk.
