For glossy spring lips

It's spring, the sun is out and that means the pressure to brighten up your clothes and make-up is on.

Last year The Body Shop launched their Colour Crush lipsticks, but now they’re back with three new shades in a Shine edition. A fuschia, a pinky coral and a magenta pink offer three variations on a bright, girlie lip.

The difference in formula with the Shine editions is that they’re much glossier and therefore a little easier to wear. Use alone for a jelly-like wash of colour that keeps your lips hydrated (the formula is infused with cherry-seed oil – yum!) or layer on top of your favourite Colour Crush lipstick to give it a glossy top coat. For me, these give all of the shine of a gloss without the sticky mess of getting your hair caught every time the wind blows.

What I love about The Body Shop is that everything leads back to the support of fair trade communities in some way. In the case of these lipsticks, it’s from marula oil, sourced from Eudafano’s Women’s Co-Operative. Jane from British Beauty Blogger¬†wrote a piece on the Daily Mail this week about high-end vs low-end make-up and speculated on where the money goes when you’ve got a bigger price tag. The Body Shop are always the first to tell you exactly who is benefitting from their sales.

Keep a couple in your handbag for those impromptu cocktails after work once the weather picks up a little!

Colour Crush Shine lipsticks launched this week and are now available in store or online at www.thebodyshop.co.uk.
