Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation Review

Sheer, glowing and light

For every day of February, I'll be reviewing a different complexion product.

Day 19: Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation

Level of coverage

Light – think of this as a slightly richer tinted moisturiser.

Finish

The finish is luminous and dewy.

Longevity

Lasts well when teamed with concealer for areas in need of extra coverage. Be sure to seal with powder too.

Techniques that you might need to know

This is is very sheer and hydrating and for this reason I find that I get the best results when I use either a soft, fluffy brush or my hands.

Laura Mercier Candleglow Foundation

You’ll like this if…

– You want a little bit more than a tinted moisturiser

– You have a hangover and want something to perk up your complexion quickly

– You want something that feels instantly hydrating on the skin

Avoid if…

Very soft and illuminating, this won’t be for you if you need to conceal any major redness or blemishes.

Products that work well with this

I like to team this with a bit of concealer here and there to get the best of both worlds. Try using concealer down the t-zone for some extra coverage and then leaving cheeks, forehead and everywhere else to capture the radiance of this foundation.

Everything else I need to tell you

Laura Mercier understands skin in a way that is truly unique – all of her base products are simply beautiful. Here she has created a hydrating formula that you will love if you want something very fresh. This, for me, is the version of her Tinted Moisturiser that offers something that tiny bit more polished for work or play. It works especially well on more mature skin to add lustre to the complexion without sitting in any fine lines.

If I had to describe this foundation in one sentence…

Very simple and pretty, a polished step up from a tinted moisturiser that offers instant luminosity to tired skin.

Laura Mercier’s Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation costs £35 and is available nationwide.
