Beauty on a budget

Looking at my dresser this week, I realised that most of my Eylure favourites were indeed from their brow range despite being more commonly known for lashes.

Here are a few of the things I’m using and loving. The great thing about Eylure’s brow range is that whether you like a soft, fluffy brow look or something completely defined, they have a variety of products that will allow you to achieve each look.

Brow Pencil, £5.45
This is one of the cheapest and one of the best brow pencils I’ve used. I love this because it goes on quite softly, helping to give the illusion of a thick, dense eyebrow rather than looking drawn on. The pencil itself is long wearing and comes in several shades – I use the Blonde shade which I love – and the opposite end is fit with a comb to brush brows through. This is just as good as pencils I’ve used for four times the price.

Brow Ink Blonde, £8.45
By total contrast, if you do want a very defined, sculpted brow finish, you’ll love this felt. The coverage is full and it will last the day, even through sweat or bad weather. Use this if you want something very, very polished and strong.

EYLURE BROWS 1

Brow Nourishing Oil, £8.25
When I first saw this I thought it was quite an unnecessary beauty item, but I gave it a go nonetheless. What I must say is that although I wouldn’t have picked it up, I’m glad I did because I’ve noticed a real difference in the texture of my brows since using this. My hair is curly and my brows are naturally quite coarse, but this has helped me to achieve a smoother brow finish. If taming your brows is a concern then this is definitely worth using, you’ll see an improvement in shape and texture of brows over time.

EYLURE BROWS 3

Brow Control & Shape Gel, £6.25
Again, I love this because for a few pounds it really makes a huge difference. Sali Hughes came to Birmingham a little while ago and I took a world of tips from her, but one thing she said really stuck with me and made me laugh. She said you should never spend more than a few pounds on a brow gel because they’re all “gross” after 5 minutes, and she’s right. Brow Gel is one of those things that no matter how careful you are with them, they’re always going to go a bit gloopy and weird. This, for me, is the perfect high-street brow solution and the pot is so small that by the time it would be going gloopy by eyebrow-gel default it’s time to buy a new one anyway. LOVE it, strong hold and easy to apply.

EYLURE BROWS 2

Brow Palette, £9.95
For a completely polished brow look, you’ll like the palette. A mixture of powder and gel, you have everything you need here to fill the brows, lock them into shape and accentuate the brow bone, giving a strong, arched finish.
