What’s in my Storage: HerClutterBox

A guide to my favourite products

For the everyday essentials that I use each morning and night, I keep my products in clear storage on my dresser.

The great thing about clear storage is that everything is out in front of you and you use everything up. I find that when I can see everything I have, it makes me experiment more.

For years I’ve used Muji storage drawers. These are slim and narrow, and they fit small beauty items like lipsticks, eyeshadows and pencils in them perfectly.

Here’s a look at some of my favourite Muji storage drawers…

Lipsticks: some of my favourites from Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Tom Ford and Estee Lauder.

Glosses: the whole Peaches and Cream collection, a few from Bobbi Brown which offer a lustrous, plumped finish, and a new addition to my selection a Kylie Jenner Lip Kit.

Pigments: obviously my Peaches and Cream pigment collection warrants a drawer to itself. Can you believe this is only one of every different pigment from over the years?

But recently, I got a new unit from HerClutterBox and it is lovely. It’s so hard to find larger clear storage units, but this one is deep enough to fit things like moisturiser, tan and hair products. Now, I have all of my daily essentials in this clear unit storage style.

Unlike Muji, HerClutterBox drawers come with a little handle which I find slightly easier to use. You can use the drawers blank or insert the partitions that come with it, offering you the chance to divide up the drawers and stock things in compartments.

Here’s a look at some of my current daily essentials in the HerClutterBox…

I’ve kept the things I reach for the most in the top drawer so this is a little varied in content. These two fragrances from Tom Ford are light and citrusy, just what I like in the summer. Then my Twisted Iris perfume by Azzi Glasser is my second skin, a unique fragrance full of character. My Z palette contains some shadows from MAC, blush from NARS and a couple of discontinued setting powders from Creme de la Mer that I loved. By way of powder I have a Bobbi Brown highlighting powder, some Rodial banana setting powder and an Estee Edit blush. For quick, lasting smoky eyes, it’s Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow palettes.

Next are my current favourite base products. To prep my skin I’m rotating glowing balms from the Estee Edit and Tom Ford, topped with Estee Edit foundation on light days and Illamasqua Skin Base for a flawless finish. On my limbs I rotate Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Body for glow or Vita Liberata’s Body Blur to add a tint of colour and blur out any imperfections.

Now we have the first half of my skincare. After cleansing, I’ve been using this Nip + Fab Hyaluronic Shot as an intensive hydrating serum. This is so good, I’m going to do a separate post on it. Following this I sometimes use my Invigorating Night Treatment, then I always follow with some Rosalena Oil and a moisturiser like Creme de la Mer’s Soft Cream. In the mornings I use the Creme Perfecting Treatment to blur out any imperfections over moisturiser and before make-up. Twice a day I’m using this Aveda Eye Cream, it’s one of the nicest I’ve tried in forever.

The bottom drawer is the deepest, allowing for taller jars and bottles. I have a mixture of skin and body care in here. Moisturisers from Ole Henriksen, Zelens and Espa for hydration. Gradual tan from TanLuxe and my everyday favourite from James Read. I use Aveda and Redken haircare, and for after sun care I layer some DHC Beauty Lotion under my favourite Dermalogica after sun.

Here’s my dresser – I love how tidy it looks despite the chaos inside each drawer!
