Quad goals

Sometimes the things I use every day are so intrinsic to me that I forget to write about them.

This in mind, I wanted to show you one of the staples in my everyday make-up. I absolutely love Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadow palettes. Might I remind you that I work in a beauty hall so my everyday make-up is probably a little heavier than most, ha ha!

The Rebel

A bit of a wild card, the Rebel is Charlotte’s emerald green quad. Green is actually my least favourite colour, but this palette is so rich and jewel toned that I can make an exception to my rule. If you want to experiment with some colour but still keep a traditional smoky eye look, this is a lovely option.

The Golden Goddess

For me, the Golden Goddess is the most universal of Charlotte’s palettes.

I can’t imagine anyone that this won’t look great on. This is classic sexy smoky at its best; gold, taupe and warm brown, topped with a subtle but glamorous glitter shadow.

The Sophisticate

A palette of four mattes, this is something that I use in conjunction with any other palette that I use. Used alone this creates a very classic smoky finish, something that is simple enough to use every day and looks professional and pretty for the workplace.

Used in conjunction with other palettes, these matte shades work beautifully as transition shades. For example, if you were to use a glitter or shimmer on the eyelid, you could buff one of these shades through the socket to give the illusion of the eyeshadow blending out into nothing. It softens any make-up look. Mature ladies will love this palette because the matte texture makes eyes pop without accentuating any fine lines.

The Dolce Vita

My favourite palette of Charlotte’s, I am literally obsessed with the Dolce Vita. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know I am obsessed with warm, burnt browns. My reason is that I think they make every single eye colour pop, and they look classic and smoky with a little bit of extra magnetism. This palette is so sexy, I genuinely believe that any woman I have ever used this on has walked away looking a bombshell. For date night, Saturday night, or what the hell I want to look fabulous every day, this is the ultimate palette and should be your first from Charlotte.

And to make the most of these palettes? A top tip (read: flyaway joke) from my friend Eilona at the Selfridges Birmingham counter has really stuck with me. She said she literally “throws Jean under everything”, Jean being one of Charlotte’s cream eyeshadows in a soft gold shade. She’s completely right! As a base, Jean is perfect to prime the eye and just add a soft golden shimmer. Hilarious and true.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palettes cost £38 and are available from Selfridges.
