Suqqu Foundation Review

Weightless, radiant coverage

When I read that Sali Hughes used Suqqu foundation, I knew I had to try it. This is one lady that I trust implicitly when it comes to beauty recommendations.

Level of coverage

Depending on how much you apply you can achieve anything from a light to a medium coverage.

Finish

The finish on this is the best thing about it. It looks glowy and radiant, like healthy skin, drying to a luminous finish.

Longevity

When set with a powder (I like Laura Mercier translucent powder with this so that you don’t ruin the freshness) this lasts really well through the day, needing only a slight touch up along the t-zone.

Techniques that you might need to know

Now I’m really not one for using sponges, but actually this works beautifully when applied with the provided sponge. I apply it first with my fingers, and then pat it into the skin with the sponge.

You’ll like this if…

– you want a fresh finish

– you want something to add radiance and life to your skin

– you like a polished finish

Avoid if…

Genuinely I think everyone would love this, but the price is a stinger at £62. This said, it will last a very long time. Also, the small shade range is a disappointment.

Products that work well with this

As above I love the Laura Mercier translucent powder with this, and I’ve also been teaming it with the Lancome Cushion Blushers which have been adding to the luminous skin finish. Other creams work well alongside this, for example MAC’s Cream Colour Base in Hush as a highlighter.

Everything else I need to tell you

Sali Hughes and the ladies in her forum all raved about this so I was desperate to try it. Then, I read her book Pretty Iconic which mentioned it again and I finally caved. It truly is wonderful, making your skin look polished and plump and full of life. I had to layer it a couple of times to get the finish that I wanted and then I got so many compliments the first day I wore it to work.

If I had to describe this foundation in one sentence…

Foundation that makes you look like the glow in your skin is your skin itself and not your make-up.

This foundation costs £62 and is available from Selfridges.

Back in February, I reviewed a different foundation every day and as a result I have lots of foundation options for you to browse. To read more of my foundation reviews, see the full #FoundationFebruary list HERE.
