Two of their lip products put to the test

The snow may have cleared but the coldness in Great Britain shows no signs of slowing down.

A combination of the chill in the air and the heating on full blast has meant that my lips remain dry as anything. To combat this, I tried alternating between two Lanolips products – the 101 Ointment and the Lip Ointment with Colour.

After having had such lovely results from the Golden Ointment, I was really excited to try the 101 Ointment. Named to honour the number of uses it has, 101 Ointment is a thick, waxy balm that can be used for lots of purposes. A very solid formula, I found it best to warm between my fingertips before applying, but I have to admit that I ended up finding a different use for it…

Recently, I got a new kitten. He is absolutely gorgeous and very friendly, but sometimes when we play I get tiny little scratches and therefore my hands have been looking rather grubby! By massaging some 101 Ointment into little scratches here and there, I’ve found that the appearance has reduced and everything healed in just a matter of days. If you’ve got someone small at home that is prone to cuts and grazes or even an annoying knack during shaving that is taking forever to heal up, a bit of 101 Ointment might be just the thing to speed things along.

In terms of lip care, my favourite of the two was (non-surprisingly) the Lip Ointment with Colour. I preferred this formula because it was slightly oilier which meant that it gave a glossy finish. The shade I’ve been using – Apples – is a bright, glossy red. Sometimes translucent glosses can be a lot sheerer on application than in the bottle but this was very pigmented which was a lovely surprise! It is fragrance free for anyone who prefers not to have a taste to their lip products, and contains SPF15 which is an essential in this weather.

The more I delve into Lanolips, the more impressed I am. Of the things I’ve tried, everything seems so rich with great results and – even better – a little goes a long way.

Are you a multi-use kind of person? If so, the 101 Ointment should be by your bedside.
