Nuxe in the Spotlight

Part of French Pharmacy Week

Ever since my first splash of Nuxe's classic dry oil, I have been a firm fan.

Recently I have tried a few more Nuxe pieces after recommendations from friends and magazines and these are the products that I’m enjoying the most.

Micellar Cleansing Water
Cleansing waters seem to be having a moment in the beauty world at the moment, with the likes of Bioderma popping up in every wish-list you can imagine. Although the neutral waters like Bioderma’s Sensibo H20 can be ideal, I wanted to try this one from Nuxe as it also contains rose petals. As well as smelling lovely, this is suitable for use on eyes, face and lips. It rids the skin of any make-up and dirt but is also a great calming lotion. I suffer from redness and blotchiness in my skin and I find that this really cools my skin down. Used twice a day, it is especially lovely to use at night. Rose water is thought to be a powerful mood enhancer so this is ideal for a de-stress before bed.

Creme Fraiche de Beaute for Normal Skin
You just can’t beat a rich, white pot of cream and this one from Nuxe is one of the longest lasting that I’ve tried. Described as a ’24 hour soothing and moisturising cream’, this is an ideal cream to use before bed. Smoothing onto face and neck post-serum, the Creme Fraiche will still be balmy in the morning, meaning that you wouldn’t even have to re-do the moisturiser if you didn’t want to. It is fairly thick so be sure to take time massaging it in, and enjoy the cocktail of floral and citrus scents as you do.

Reve de Miel Lip Balm
Earlier this year I met with the lady behind the best beauty blog in France. My first question was of course what I needed to stock up on from the French pharmacy – this lip balm was her number one recommendation. Think of this as a matt version of Eight Hour Cream (and you know by now how I feel about Eight Hour Cream). It is a muted, caramel-coloured yellow, with a potent citrus scent and a very rich, balmy texture. Use this during the day and it will stay for hours. Use before bed and you will be splashing the remnants off as you wash your face in morning.

Nuxellence Jeunesse
When Vogue’s Beauty Director, Nicola Moulton, included this cream in her round up of the best face creams this month, I knew I needed it. The description she gave sounded much like the way I regard my prized Clarisonic. She states, “this light fluid can repair up to 43 per cent of skin’s energy source within a month, and render any other product you’re using – serum or eye product, say – twice as effective”. I’ve only just started using this so I will report back once I have used it for a while. On first impressions, I would note that the texture (from colour to finish) is very similar to the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, only it absorbs more quickly and doesn’t leave a tacky finish.

Nuxe is my favourite of the French pharmacy brands; everything I’ve tried feels like an indulgence and you can’t beat them for instant results. If you buy one Nuxe item to begin with, make it the lip balm – it will seal the deal for you.
