Fall 2013 shades

You can't judge a book by it's cover, except when it comes to Butter London.

In their eclectic and bright Fall ’13 collection, the colour pay off is true to the vibrant bottle shades. Casting aside traditional autumnal hues, Butter London are encouraging us to see in the darker seasons with brighter manicures. Each of their latest shades is opaque, a contrast to the sheer, shimmering shades we’re seeing so much of elsewhere.

Bespoke Colour Collection Butter London

Here’s the rundown of their acid bright collection…

Butter London Cotton BudsCotton Buds: a fresh, pure white, the light and thin texture of this formula leaves you feeling more Chanel than Tipp-ExLayer underneath any shade to intensify the payoff.

Butter London Cake-HoleCake-Hole: bright, bubble-gum pink, this is a classic pop of colour but still deep enough to wear without looking like a Barbie doll. This is slightly sheerer despite being an opaque shade, so add an extra layer for a glossy finish.

Butter London Silly BillySilly Billy: it can be so difficult to find a wearable orange, but this is one of the nicest I’ve tried. It’s lovely and bright but the muted finish eradicates any risk of looking like you’ve gone crazy with the highlighters.

Butter London PimmsPimms: a quintessentially British name for a stand-out shade; this is my favourite of the bunch. Yellows are difficult to wear and I’ve tried my fair share, but this one has impressed me in tone and application. Just one coat of this was enough for a full finish, and the bold canary yellow was enough to brighten the darkest of autumn outfits.

GIddy KipperGiddy Kipper: a cool, medium blue, a flash of metallic silver gives the boldness of this shade a soft edge. Unlike any high-street shades I’ve tried.

Butter London WelliesWellies: bright, lime green, this adds a stunning pop of colour to an accent nail. Team with a tan for a fresh, vibrant manicure.

Butter London are one of the few nail varnish brands who allow for you to remove the large square lid and use a smaller rounded applicator, meaning it’s a brand favoured by professionals as well as consumers. Every girl should have at least a few of their shades, £12.00 each, atop her dresser.
