A handful of quick tips for a fast-track to beauty

We've all been impossibly busy at some point or another; you're working late nights, a zombie in the mornings and your appearance is starting to show it. If you're struggling to find the 'me time' at the moment, try these 5 quick tips for maintained beauty...

1. Use a face mask at the start of your day.
The phrase ‘face mask’ may have you conjuring an image of a thick, gloopy formula, but today that isn’t the case. In the morning post-cleanse, layer a simple mask onto clean skin to work as you eat your breakfast. If your skin is dry something like Origins Drink Up will work a treat, or for a brightening boost try Beauty Flash Balm from Clarins.

2. Apply your dry shampoo before you go to bed.
For some people, those extra 5 minutes in the morning make a world of difference. If this is you, blast your hair with dry shampoo before you go to sleep. By morning, you’ll have beachy, refreshed hair with none of those tell-tale grey patches. My current favourites are Oh Bee Hive from Tigi and Toni & Guy’s Cleanse Dry Shampoo.

3. Wear a lip liner with your lipstick or gloss.
A step as simple as this will make you look infinitely more groomed. Smudge some kohl into your lash line and finish with a volumizing mascara like Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes. Now, blend a medium brown pencil all around the lip line. (Made a mistake? Don’t worry. Buff it out gently with your foundation brush.) Top with a coat of a rosy nude like MAC Creme Cup for a groomed, feminine look.

4. Find a concealer with a peachy undertone.
Stress and lack of sleep will usually bring their friends puffy eyes and sullen bags to the party. Make sure you’re using something peachy to counteract any blue tones when you colour correct. Illamasqua’s Skin Base Lift concealers come in 5 shades, each with a peachy hue, or for something more targeted try the Correction Concentrate from Pixi.

5. Mix an illuminating balm into your foundation.
I love mixing highlighter into my foundation to give instantly glowing skin, I tip I picked up from Newby’s newsletter at feelunique.com. Work something like Nars Illuminator in Copacabana in a 2:1 ratio with your foundation for a fresh, dewy base.

And there you have it… well rested and fresh faced in no time!
