8 Hr Beauty Sleep For Your Skin

Last week, I had the chance to preview the latest Vitamin E innovation from The Body Shop - their Serum-in-Oil.

Serum-in-Oil isn’t something I’ve seen before, but the team explained that this is set to be the next big thing in skincare. If, like me, you favour a thorough skincare routine in the evenings (cleanse, tone, serum, oil, moisturiser for me) this is a great way to tick all the boxes but cut down on steps. And, of course, any Body Shop enthusiasts will know that the Vitamin E range is brilliant for hydration and all round nourishment.

Vitamin E

The promises after 8 hours…

  • Skin feels replenished, recharged and softer
  • Skin looks rested, more radiant and fresher

I’ve tried this in numerous combinations over the last few days. For my first evening, I used this alone after cleansing and toning. My skin took to it really well (I use a lot from The Body Shop anyway) and I found it to be plump and quite fresh by morning. The next evening, I used this with the Vitamin E Night Cream on top and also used their Facial Massager as I rubbed it in. Again, the main thing I noticed by morning was a real plumpness to my skin – the injection of hydration had really perked it up – and the massager had definitely brightened up my complexion.

The verdict? At just £12.00, I’m really impressed with how well this works. Given that we’re at this bitterly cold time of year, this is an easy way to protect your skin and keep dry skin at bay. It also contains The Body Shop’s highest concentration of wheatgerm oil, meaning that if you’ve tried and loved the other Vitamin E products, you’re probably going to get on well with this too.

TOP TIP! Skincare expert Caroline Hirons was on hand to answer our beauty questions, and mine was to wonder how much of a skincare product you need for it to really work. In regard to the Serum-in-Oil, she told me that she cleanses and tones as soon as she gets home in the evenings. As the evening goes on, she applies oil “little and often – if your skin takes it, apply more”. Just before bed she’ll close the deal with a favourite cream.

At £12.00 this is an absolute steal – I’d happily recommend it to women of all ages.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil launched today and is available in store or online at for £12.00.
