Illamasqua Glamore Collection

More Colour. More Texture. More Beauty.

This morning, Illamasqua are back with a lavish new collection - Glamore. We've seen a number of skin innovations from Illamasqua over the past few months - from Hydra Veil to Skin Base Lift - but this time they're back with a bold splash of colour.

Glamore 2014

Shattered Star Nails, £15.00 each
In a brand new multi-dimension glitter formula, there are three new Nail Varnish shades in Glamore. The finish on these is unlike anything else I’ve seen so far; a blend of fine, medium and chunky glitter particles is combined to create a really textured nail look. These are a great way to explore a glitter nail trend without looking gaudy; think glitter for grown ups. One coat will give you a full coverage finish but opt for two for longevity (Illamasqua are brilliant for nail formulas that last the long haul). As with all glitter nail varnish, don’t bother trying to remove these quickly – just accept the fact that you’re going to need to soak them off.

Eye Brow Cake and Angled Brush, £15.50 and £19.00
I’m really glad that Illamasqua have included the Eye Brow Cake in this collection because in my opinion it’s a hugely underrated product. Over the last few years we’ve seen a huge interest in brow upkeep and though I’ve tried plenty of brow products this is truly one of the best on the market. The powder is designed to cling to skin as well as hair, so not only will it fill in any gaps in the brows but it works really well if you need to slightly reshape the brows. Used alone it can be built to provide either a soft, feral look or a bold, full brow, or mixed with water or Sealing Gel you can create a strong, full coverage brow. As for the Angled Brush? Again, there are many on the market, but this is the best I’ve found. It’s unique in that it is very short, flat and firm, meaning that it does the work of creating an arch for you without losing it’s shape or pulling the product too much. There are only a handful of products that I use every day as I’m a real experimenter when it comes to beauty, but I use both of these every single day without fail. (My Eye Brow Cake shade is Thunder, and they’re one of the rare brands to offer a shade for red heads – Stark.)
TOP TIP! Use the powder alone on the inner corners of the brows and mix with water to fill the rest of the brow for that graduated look that you see on the make-up artists of Instagram.

Satin Finish Glamore Lipstick, £16.50 each
Famed for unparalleled pigment when it comes to Lipstick, a new formula of Satin Finish Lipsticks is the talk of the new Glamore collection. Illamasqua Lipsticks are drier than average and they stay put like no other. As Ross Andrewartha, Head of International Training, would say, “they’re hard to get on and hard to get off”. But now, this creamy, juicy formula has tailored to those who favour a richer texture of lipstick without compromising on pigment. Available in three shades – a raspberry, a bold orange and a candy pink – I can see these going down especially well.

Glamore Illamasqua 2014

On another note, I absolutely love the imagery that has come with this collection. I think it truly captures what Illamasqua is all about which is having fun with make-up and colour. As far as spring collection imagery goes, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything quite so bright, flirty and beautiful. It’s no surprise though, for Alex Box has an eye for the beautiful like no other.
