Ojon Shampoo: a Tale of Two Foams

Hydrating and Detoxing

For the past few weeks I've been using two different Ojon shampoos. My hair is looking and feeling great after both, but there's one key difference - foam. In one, there's hardly a hint of a bubble, whereas the other expands into a rich, soapy formula. Here's why both have served me well...

Rare Blend Infusion Shampoo, £21.00
For dry hair like mine, this cleanses without stripping. If you’re used to foaming shampoos then be warned – this won’t generate a thick lather. Instead, the oil infused formula works to clean the hair without disturbing any natural oils. A gel like texture is infused with small beads that release on contact, and although you don’t quite get a soapy scrub, the freshness isn’t compromised. On my colour treated, naturally dry hair, this has really made a difference in how my hair dries naturally. Post-cleanse and after a few pumps of oil on wet hair, I’m left with loose, sculpted curls and a significant decrease in frizz. Result!

Rare Blend Infusion Shampoo

Full Detox Detoxifying Shampoo, £21.00
This has to be one of the best hair products I’ve tried – what’s more, my whole house are in agreement. Claiming to remove impurities and product build up, the Full Detox gives a thorough, deep cleanse every few washes to remove every last morsel of product. A really rich, soapy formula, this works its way around hair and scalp and leaves hair feeling completely light and fresh. When I blow dry my hair after using this, it is light, bouncy and full of volume – there’s nothing left to weigh it down. If you use a lot of product (even dry shampoo and hair oils can build easily) then you’ll really see the benefit of this. I’d recommend saving it for every 3 – 4 washes so that you feel the difference each time.

Full Detox

When it comes to cleansing, Ojon are soon to release a new cleansing conditioner. Apparently it’s huge in the USA; every other wash, you simply use a cleansing conditioner to refresh the hair without stripping away any natural oils. Have you tried this before?
