Play with Colour

For spring 2014, the Body Shop are encouraging us to put a seasonal 'spring' into our hair and make-up.

Spring Collection

Limited Edition Hair Chalks, £5.00 each
Available in two shades, Tickle Me Pink (fuchsia pink) and Falling for Blue (cobalt blue), these are great for a quick-fix colour. Brush onto dry hair wherever you want some colour and seal into place with a blast of hairspray. What’s great about these is that whether you’re applying to beachy blonde hair or the darkest of brunette, the colours will pop.

The Body SHop Hair Chalks

TOP TIP! Work into ends of hair in small strands and plait your hair for a multi-tonal look that Instagram would be proud of.

Hair Chalk The Body Shop

Shimmer Cubes in Palette 26, £16.00
A quartet of shimmer shades, each of these comes in a rose coloured hue. They’re individually wrapped so you can slot your favourite comfortably into your handbag; each one isn’t much bigger than a sugar cube. Use these iridescent pinks to add an opalescent highlight to your blusher.
TOP TIP! If you’re working these onto the eyes, be sure to use them as accents of colour – too much pink may leave you looking a little sore. Save them for the lid and brow bone and team with darker shades to define the lash lines.

Shimmer Cubes 26

Shimmer Cubes in Palette 30, £16.00
This little pot gives endless combinations to create the perfect golden, smoky eye. Take the vanilla shade to highlight brow bones (and cheek bones) and add a brightening highlight to the tear duct. Then, choose between a warm gold, a rich bronze and a dark chocolate brown for your smouldering shadow. Team with Honey Bronze powder for a golden, healthy glow.

Shimmer Cubes Neutral

Lip Gloss in Vanilla and Rose, £7.00 each
For a light, fresh spring look, there’s two shimmer gloss shades up for grabs. Rose is a soft pink and Vanilla a glistening nude, each fragranced in accordance with their name. For a glossy, high-shine finish wear alone or layer onto your favourite Colour Crush lipstick to add depth.

As always with the Body Shop, their ingredients have been sourced from co-operatives to ensure the support of Fair Trade communities. Marula Oil used in this collection was sourced from the Eudofano Women’s Co-operative in Ondangwa, Northern Namibian. When you buy from the Body Shop, your money goes into the livelihood of a community in need.

Which trend are you going to be trying? I’m teaming the Tickle Me Pink hair chalk and golden shimmer cubes for a girlie, hippy chic look.

You can find the full spring collection from the Body Shop in store or online in the next few weeks at
