For Face and Body

You'll know by now how much I love the Body Shop. The reasons for my love affair are simple; the products are really reasonably priced, they work, and they have a habit of smelling incredible.

Recently, they’ve introduced a new texture in a few products which is quite like an ice cream sorbet. I’m going to need you to head to your nearest store to try them out as a matter of urgency…

First up are the new Body Sorbets. The smell from these is unreal. Think of your favourite cocktail, or the obscenely sugary syrup from a slush puppy, and that’s the kind of scent we’re talking. What I love about these is that they’re really cooling, so after a hot bath or shower they will completely calm and nourish the skin. I use mine before bed and they absorb quite quickly meaning no stickiness or heavy residue. Seeing as they’re so light they’re a treat to perk up bare legs in the day, too.

So far I’ve tried two fruity variations, Mango and Strawberry, and both are really refreshing. Next I’m eyeing up Pink Grapefruit (one of my favourite Body Shop scents) and Moringa for a heady bedtime pamper.

Next in line is the big news – the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. Ask anyone their opinion about the Body Shop and you’ll tend to find that the Vitamin E range comes up quite quickly in the conversation. It is one of those cult classic ranges, one from which everyone seems to have a favourite. I’ve always got on well with it, but for me this is now the pick of the range. Think of the rich, hydrating properties that the Vitamin E range is famous for, and then team it with the texture of a light, cooling gel. It’s the perfect hybrid.

With summer on the horizon, this is one little jar that I’d recommend anyone to have by their bed to ease the tightness of hot and bothered skin. What makes it stand out for me against the rest of the range is that it sets to a matte finish. Combination skins, in particular, are going to get on well with this one.

These aren’t quite out yet but they will be soon – be sure to find me on Twitter @MixedGemsBeauty so I can give you the heads up when they land.
