Scents of Summer

Three lovely, warm fragrances

For spring, my seasonal fragrances were awash with citrus notes. Now, I'm torn between three warmer scents as we bask in the heat and sun of the summer.

Nuxe Prodigieux le Parfum, £43.00
One of my all-time favourite beauty products is the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. My bathroom is never without the two variations; original for face, hair and body, and golden to work into tanned arms, legs and decolletage before a night out. It is my favourite dry oil not only for hydrating purposes but also the light, fresh scent. Now, Nuxe have taken the scent that everyone loves so much and formed a light fragrance. A perfect summer contender, the top merges notes like Orange Blossom and Tangerine while the base boasts a soft hit of coconut. Although this is potent enough to use as a scent on it’s own, I like to spritz this all over my body as a body spray and layer it with my favourite summer perfume. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is so summery I trail into thoughts of wanting a holiday each time I wear it!

Pafum Divin de Caudalie, £39.00
While we’re on the subject of french beauty, another brand I couldn’t do without is Caudalie. One of the reasons I love them so much is that I feel that you get such premium, luxury quality and all for reasonable prices. Caudalie isn’t hugely scented but everything always smells gently aromatic, so I was expecting something quite light and warm from them. Parfum Divin merges fresh notes like Moroccan and Bulgarian rose and grapefruit with warmer accents like pink peppercorn and cedar. Again, I spray this all over my body and layer with something a little stronger on the neck and wrists. This creates a beautiful summer cocktail when teamed with Guerlain’s Mandarine Basilic.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, £47.00
Making a guest appearance every summer, one of my favourite marks of sunshine is when I spy Bronze Goddess in residency at Estee Lauder. Perhaps a cliche but for good reason, Bronze Goddess is one of the most divine summer scents of them all. Everything about this is warm; Amber, Bergamot, Vanilla. A heady spritz or two will last you the day, and evokes all of the allure of a warm, beachy holiday. Prepare to share this one because your mom, sister and aunt are all going to want to use it; it’s a sexy, timeless classic.

Which summer scents are you wearing this year? I’d love to hear about them.
