A powerful cleanse

Clinique's 3-Step regime is one of those things that everyone has heard of and most people have tried at some point. So when I heard that the 3-Step was soon to become a 4-Step, I couldn't believe it.

But the new addition wasn’t a new formula. It was a sonic cleansing brush, designed to kick the other 3 steps into a whole new level of performance.

For a few months now I’ve used their Cleansing Brush as part of my daily regime. I see an overnight difference after using serums and creams that might have taken a few days to kick in beforehand – there’s no denying, it works.

So what does it do? Basically this is a really gentle brush that pulsates when you use it, so it helps to give you a really thorough cleanse. The result of this is that your skin is well prepped for everything that comes afterwards and so everything else in your skincare regime works even better than usual. For me what’s so great is that using something like this is a single step that you can take to get twice the benefit from your current regime.

As you’ll already know, I am a huge fan of Clarisonic, but this is not the same thing. The main difference between the two is that Clarisonic offer an oscillating brush head movement whereas Clinique’s is a pulsating movement.

How Clinique’s Sonic Cleansing Brush is different…

  • Pulsating brush head movement
  • Cheaper in price
  • A lighter, more compact model
  • A smaller, oval brush head

Personally, I’m seeing huge amounts of good from using this with classics from other brands, not just Clinique. Used with Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish you won’t get a smoother, softer cleanse (try the limited edition Orange Blossom variation for Christmas).

Although it might not be an everyday tip, I might also mention that this worked wonders for me and my friends this weekend to shift hours worth of face paint and make-up from our halloween costumes! I used Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm (which is a must-have) to get most of my make-up off, then worked the brush into annoying areas like the hairline and around the nose. Every last inch of my Donkey-from-Shrek attire, which included hair colorant, had melted away within 10 minutes in a hot shower. Another simple but really important fact to note is that they’ve included a USB cord in the charging stand so that if you forget your charger (which is very easy to do) you can simply charge it through your computer. Genius.

For a gentle, family friendly cleansing brush, this is really lovely. With Christmas coming up I’d keep this in mind as a great unisex present to suit all ages. Everyone washes their face, so everyone will benefit from using something like this.

Get it from Selfridges if you’re going to go anywhere. They offer a special loyalty system with Clinique so that you get points and stamps each time you get your Clinique products with them. The rewards are more often than not full sized products!
