Magic smoky sticks, palettes and more

When it comes to eyes, Estee Lauder have had a complete overhaul and unveiled some brilliant new formulas.

Sumptuous Knockout Mascara, £24

I wanted to start my piece with this because it is the best mascara I have tried in YEARS. Every single day I wear strip eyelashes so to be honest I’m quite flaky with mascara and don’t tend to stay loyal to any one brand. But this is everything I have been looking for in a mascara.

So why do I love it so much? Basically it does everything that all mascaras claim to do, but it really delivers. My lashes are fanned out, long, jet black and really defined after applying this. And the best bit? It doesn’t clump. Honestly I can’t see myself using any other mascara now.

I’d also like to point out that I hate plastic mascara wands and much prefer a brush, but this is the exception to the rule. It manages to coat every single lash and the bristles are relatively short so it doesn’t gather too much product. This mascara is absolute heaven.

Little Black Liner, £22

Again, this one is going to be a staple. It’s a really simple, does what it says on the tin liquid liner, but unlike lots of others it doesn’t transfer or run as the day goes on. I put this on in the morning before work (let’s say around 7.30am) and when I get home at 6.30pm it’s still crisp, black and perfectly in place.

This liner comes with two ends, one thick and one thin, so that you can achieve anything from a very fine line to a thick, bold flick. It dries very quickly too, a huge bonus.

Magic Smoky Shadow Sticks, £18 each

I know what you’re thinking – another eyeshadow stick. But Lauder have actually done something different here and released a chubby eyeshadow stick that isn’t cream in formula.

Unlike many other sticks I’ve tried, these sticks are simply pressed powder shadow, meaning that they go on like a powder and give a velvet finish.

These are especially easy to apply and blend out, and I think they give a slightly softer finish than a cream shadow so they’re perfect for everyday wear.  You will love these if you want quick, easy make-up that still looks glamorous.

Pure Color Envy palettes, £40 each

In a heavy, glossy new navy compact, Lauder have created an entire new collection of shadows. Each combination comes in variety of finishes, from shimmer to matte, and also has a luminous cream shade to emphasise the brow bone. The texture of these is divine. It blends really easily but gives a pigmented, long lasting wear.

Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner, £18 each

I love the original Double Wear pencils so I was really keen to try these and they have not disappointed. A longer wearing formula, these will resist any smudging through the day and won’t move until you want them to. Like the pencils, the tip of the stick features a little smudger to give a soft, blended finish.

These are retractable, but the tip also doubles up as a very fine sharpener, allowing you the option of using the stick as a thicker, smudgier colour or a fine tip liner.

Brow Now Stay-in-Place Brow Gel, £17

This tiny little brow gel is perfect for achieving a groomed, defined finish whatever your hair colour. Most brow gels come with a full sized wand, but this wand is tiny (around half a centimetre long) and so you can really tame any little flyaway brow hairs.
