Stealing the style of a L'Oreal muse...

One of my favourite beauty muses is Blake Lively.

I love her eclectic fashion sense and I think it really translates into her make-up. She always experiments with colours and textures.

Seeing as she’s one of the L’Oreal Paris ambassadors, I’ve been emulating her style with some of their festival inspired summer collection pieces.

Brow Artist Maker, £5.99
Recently I am really into a soft, fluffy brow look. What I want is something to make my brows look naturally full and shaped without them looking drawn on or artificial. This powder-to-cream wand from L’Oreal is just the ticket. At one end you have a thick, velvety stick, perfect for adding a wash of colour to the brows. At the other end, a wide kabuki brush is able to soften and spread the pigment. The result is a smart, polished brow with no tell-tale lines.

Miss Hippie Mascara, £7.99
Have you ever worn Ardell Demi-Wispie lashes? They give that fluttering full look, volume without clumps? Well that’s the kind of finish you can expect from this mascara. With a large rounded wand, this leaves your lashes defined and dark but with a soft finish.

Nude Magique Cushion, £14.99
For a fresh, dewy skin finish like Blake’s, this cushion foundation is divine. This offers a coverage quite similar to a tinted moisturiser; the emphasis is on the glow and the blurring effect it leaves on the skin, it sits like a second skin. Though the formula is lovely, I’ve been avoiding the applicator sponge that came with it and instead working this into the skin with a buffing brush. Use a little for a barely there finish or build to create anything up to a medium coverage, with a glowing, luminous finish.

Color Riche Nail Varnish shades, £4.99
If you follow Blake on Instagram you’ll know she always posts close-up shots of her jewellery which in turn shows her varying shades in nail varnish. There are so many bright colours in the L’Oreal line up, and considering how reasonably priced they are the lasting power is superb. I had 7 chip-free days out of all of the shades that I tried this summer.
