Including the new Myrrh and Tonka Cologne Intense

The famously traditional Jo Malone has started spring with a series of new patters and prints across their new launches. Let's take a look...

Myrrh & Tonka Cologne Intense, from £74

For me, this is the most accessible of all of the Cologne Intense fragrances. A sweet, deep fragrance, it smells good enough to eat. If you were deciding to try your first Cologne Intense, this would be a slightly softer entry fragrance. It works beautifully alone or layered with something spicy like Nutmeg and Ginger.

Throughout spring, your Cologne Intense purchases will also be wrapped in these limited edition fragrance sleeves, with one to match each scent.

Cologne Intense Mini, £74

Ask any Jo Malone London team member and they will tell you how often they get asked for a smaller size in the Cologne Intense fragrances. This in mind, I am delighted that they have finally released a 50ml bottle, half the size of the original fragrances.

There are so many advantages to this smaller size. For one, it is infinitely more travel friendly. On another hand, it allows for those who like to layer their Jo Malone London fragrances to purchase two minis rather than one full size bottle (one of my favourite combinations is Dark Amber and Ginger Lily with Wood Sage and Sea Salt). And of course to state the obvious, they’re more affordable.

Soaps, £15 for Body Soap and £24 for Bath Soap

If, like me, you’re just as crazy about Jo Malone body care as you are about fragrance, you’ll be delighted to hear that they’ve just introduced new larger soaps.

The original soaps have each been repackaged, housed in a printed paper to reflect each fragrance.

And now we have larger Bath Soaps, ideal for a rich body cleanse. I must note that although these smell delicious, I can’t say that they smell entirely similar to their fragrance counterparts. Pomegranate Noir Bath Soap, for example, is much fresher and lighter in scent than it’s fragrance.

And now for the money shot… it wouldn’t be a Jo Malone launch without a special photo of our Jacky V now, would it? For those of you who haven’t seen him before, my friend Jack works at Jo Malone and we always take a big close up photo like this and eat one of the chocolate discs from the counter to celebrate new launches.
