Palettes to Love: February

Spring is here at last

It's February and with a new wave of fresh colour coming through from everyone this month one thing is very clear... spring is finally back. Here are a few of my favourite new palettes injecting some colour into my every day regime.

Smashbox Covershot Palettes, £24 each

Over Christmas, my mom and I got hooked on Pretty Little Liars on Netflix and watched all seven seasons in one go. This in mind, I had kittens when I saw that Shay Mitchell had collaborated with Smashbox to make SEVEN cute little eyeshadow palettes. She’s the face of the campaign for each of these palettes, making the 7 Shades of Shay.

There are lots of styles to wear and textures to use. Make-up artists will love the Bold Palette, which contains a selection of matte primary colours that you might not use every day but you definitely need in your kit.

My favourite is the Golden Hour palette, a classic collection of warm neutrals to make any eye colour pop.

Here’s a look I created using the palette this week.

In terms of something unique, the Metallic palette is great. Giving an intense foil finish, this is beautiful when used on the eyes or can be used to create a really theatrical strobing finish.

My favourite part of this collection is the front of the palettes themselves. When you move them around they create an optical illusion and a burst of colour explodes. Also, they’re very light and portable for your handbag. At £24 each, the selection of colours and ease of blending is superb on these.

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Seductive Beauty, £49

You might remember last year that Charlotte made the Look in a Palette in Natural Beauty, a gorgeous one-for-all that contained blush, complexion and eye shades.

Now she’s returned with a re-release of Natural Beauty and also a brand new Seductive Beauty palette, slightly more intense than the original.

What I love about this palette is the greige eyeshadow shade no 2. My favourite Charlotte product of all time was her limited edition Fallen Angel palette which is now like gold dust to find. In it was a similar mushroom kind of shade that just looks stunning on everyone. It’s not quite cool and not quite warm; a subtle shade that works with any make-up look.

You’ll love this if you’re like me and you do your make-up on the train so you need as little to carry as possible and a huge mirror.

NARS Unfiltered Blusher Palettes, £45

You can read more about these in my post all about the spring newness from NARS, but just one look below will show you how beautiful they are.

NARS Unfiltered I Blush Palette

NARS Unfiltered II Blush Palette

These launched today and they’re exclusively available online.

Suqqu SS17 collection, from £30 at Selfridges

There are so many beautiful eyeshadow and blusher palettes launching at Suqqu today, I can hardly choose a favourite. You’ll notice that they’ve repackaged the eyeshadow quads, allowing for larger eyeshadow pans.

Here’s the full collection for you to browse…
