IT Cosmetics CC Cream Illumination Review

A luminous full coverage foundation

My favourite ever complexion product is the IT Cosmetics CC Cream so you can imagine my delight that they have released a sister product, CC Cream Illumination.

Level of coverage

This offers a completely full coverage. Don’t be fooled by the phrase ‘CC Cream’ – it will completely rival your favourite full coverage foundation.

The finish on this is dewy and it retains luminosity even when you set it with powder because it has illuminating pigments in the formula.

Lasts the day without retouching when you set it with a powder.

Techniques that you might need to know

There are limited shades in the CC Cream because this is designed especially to adapt to each skin tone. I’d recommend when having your shade matched that you match the centre of your face rather than the jaw line. CC Illumination excels in colour correcting and covering skin issues, so it makes sense to match your shade to the part of your face most likely to have any redness or concerns.

You’ll like this if…

– You like the original CC Cream but want a more luminous finish

– You have skincare concerns and need a full coverage: redness, acne, dark spots, pigmentation

– You want a multi-tasker. This is all of your skincare and foundation in one

– You don’t want to look like you have lots of make-up on

Avoid if…

This is designed to be completely luminous and glowing. If you prefer more of a matte, velvety finish, you’ll like the original CC Cream better and can set it with powder to achieve that finish.

Products that work well with this

The Dual Complexion Brush is the golden ticket to making this look phenomenal. Buff it in using circular motions to achieve a completely airbrushed, full coverage finish.

Everything else I need to tell you

The original CC Cream from IT Cosmetics is my all time favourite complexion product, and this sister to it is a gorgeous step-up for when you want to look extra radiant. Lots of people have been asking me the main differences between the two formulas. It’s the same formula in both, but the Illumination cream has been infused with extra pigment to achieve more of a glow. I tend to use the original every day and then switch to Illumination when I’m on a night out or I know I’ll be photographed. With the original, you can tailor your powder application to achieve anything from a dewy finish when left alone to a matte finish when set with powder. With Illumination, even if you use a powder to give this a velvety skin finish, it will still appear luminous and impart a glow.

Everything at IT Cosmetics is developed with plastic surgeons so the formulas are so well researched and deliver on their claims. This product starts it’s life as skincare so on top of delivering a flawless complexion, it ticks so many boxes: SPF 50, anti-ageing serum, colour corrector, full coverage foundation, pore minimiser, dark spot concealer and moisturiser.

If I had to describe this foundation in one sentence…

A luminous full coverage foundation, especially great for concealing any skin concerns, that gives a flawless finish but makes you look like you’re hardly wearing a thing.

IT Cosmetics CC Illumination Cream costs £30 online and from Selfridges.
