12 mesmerising shades in a limited palette

Charlotte Tilbury's eyeshadow quads are among the most used in my make-up collection.

Like last autumn, this September she has returned with a limited 12-strong palette.

Teamed into four sets of three complementary shades, this palette contains trios for Love Eyes, Power Eyes, Happy Eyes and Confident Eyes.

What really stands out to me about this is that there is a perfect mixture of matte and creamy satin shades, making it an ideal palette for easy blending with pops of colour. You need a little of both textures to really create the perfect smoky eye.

Here’s a look I created using the matte shade from Love Eyes, the entire Happy Eyes set and a little of the plum and cranberry in the Confident Eyes. See how blended it looks? It’s a trick of the eye. I layered lighter shades on the outer eye and took darker shades towards the inner eye. What looks like blending is actually the application of lighter to darker shades to create that gradient.

Texture wise, maybe it’s just me but I feel a significant change in texture in this palette from the 12 palette last autumn. This feels much easier to blend and more pigmented. I loved last year’s line-up, but this plummy version is much more my cup of tea because the warmth of these shades will make every eye colour pop.

It’s £60, and once it’s gone it’s gone, but this is one of my favourite CT palettes to date. WOW. If you liked the Dolce Vita, Pillow Talk and Vintage Vamp palettes, this one has your name on it.
